Ultrabite is an innovative and truly pioneering discovery. A unique and revolutionary product, it reproduces the natural attractions of fish pheromones to stimulate fish and induce immediate feeding behaviour.
Ultrabite has been approved and developed by the UK Government in direct collaboration with Kiotech and CEFAS (The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences) who have combined their biological and chemical expertise in the creation and extensive testing of Ultrabite.
Pheromones were first brought to the attention of fishermen, and their substantial influence recognised following the publication of a letter by The Field magazine which suggested that pheromones were instrumental in the uncanny ability wielded by women in catching large salmon.
About KiotechKiotech International plc is a quoted British biotech company with expertise in modifying brain patterns and triggering mood states and behavioural changes through the use of aromas.
On contacting The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences (CEFAS), Kiotech found that CEFAS had already discovered and patented a potent fish feeding Pheromone (Factor 'X').
Kiotech and CEFAS pooled resources and now offer 12 species specific formulae where feeding pheromones overlay food odours to provoke strong feeding behaviour in fish.
About CEFASThe Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences (CEFAS) is a British Government Agency with interests that include the subject of fish attraction. Factor 'X' is a patent held formula registered by CEFAS.
Dr Andy Moore and his team of CEFAS Scientists have carried out extensive laboratory trials on fish pheromones and feeding attractants with Kiotech.
The certification of Ultrabite as an effective fish attractant is a significant step for CEFAS. It being a Government Agency, there is an absolute need for open, honest and scientifically proven bases for its public endorsement of a commercial product.
Ultrabite is also certified as environmentally and ecologically friendly.
